ABSTRACT
This Assessment of Anti-cult unit operatives in Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu: A public perception of residents of Igbariam campus. The study adopted three research questions and three research objectives. The specific objectives are to identify the challenges facing the anti-cult unit of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Univerisity, Igbariam campus in crime prevention and control. to find out the methods being adopted by the anti-cult unit to prevent and control crime at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam Campus and to find out the measures that can be adopted to enhance the services of the anti-cult unit of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Univerisity, Igbariam campus in crime prevention and control. The estimated population of the study was 12500 from which 387 sample sizes was determined using Taro Yamani’s Formula. The research instruments employed in this study was questionnaire. The findings of the study revealed that insufficient funding and resources for equipment are the major challenges facing the anti-cult unit of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Univerisity, Igbariam campus in crime prevention and control. Additionally, the study revealed that regular patrols and security checks are the major method university anti-cult unit collaborate with police in the universities. The study recommends that fostering a stronger community partnership through awareness campaigns and collaborative initiatives can improve trust and cooperation. Additionally, implementing a robust feedback and accountability mechanism will help maintain high ethical standards and transparency.
