Abstract
ABSTRACT
This project focuses on the load analysis for solar installations at four laboratories in the Engineering Complex of HAFED Polytechnic, Kazaure. The requirement is to assess the total energy that would be enough to power some equipment in the laboratories, and optimal solar installation material needed. The testing of the solar power system involved evaluating the performance and efficiency of the photovoltaic (PV) modules, inverter, batteries, and charge controller. The results showed that the PV modules produced power close to the amount enough to supply the targeted equipment. The inverter operated efficiently above 90%, the batteries maintained their state of charge and the charge controller effectively managed the charging process. The overall performance of the solar power system demonstrated satisfactory results, meeting the defined objectives and requirements. The significance of this project lies in reducing energy costs, increasing energy independence, and optimizing performance. The successful implementation of this solar power system in these laboratories highlights the potential for renewable energy solutions in educational institutions, contributing to sustainable energy practices and mitigating climate change.
