The study examined the effectiveness of Social Media Strategies on Environmental Protection in Etinan L.G.A. For the study to have focus, research questions were formulated and objectives were set among which the objectives were: to find out whether the residents in Etinan Local Government Area are exposed to environmental protection campaign on social media, to find out the perceptions of residents in Etinan Local Government Area on the use of social media strategies on environmental protection and to find out the effectiveness of social media strategies on environmental protection in Etinan Local Government Area. The study adopted survey research design with cluster sampling as its sampling technique sample size of 386 respondents was used and the method for data collection was questionnaire. Findings also revealed that the residents in Etinan Local Government Area are exposed to environmental protection campaign on social media and significant portion of the population in Etinan L.G.A. frequently encounters environmental protection campaigns on social media. also significant number of residents in Etinan L.G.A. generally perceive social media strategies as effective tools for environmental protection seeing the efficacy in driving active participation in environmental guidelines and majority of the respondents considers social media strategies very effective for environmental protection in Etinan LGA. In line with the findings of the study, the following recommendations includes: that the people of Etinan L.G.A are well exposed to social media campaign on environmental sanitization, there should be more aggressive media campaign to achieve the objectives of the campaign and the frequency of information dissemination should be increased to enhance widespread information on environmental protection in Etinan L.G.A.
