Abstract
ABSTRACT
This study examines the impact of inflation on primary education in Ungwan Boro Ward of Chikun
Local Government Area, Kaduna State. It highlights the direct and indirect effects of inflation on
pupils' academic performance, access to resources, and the quality of the learning environment.
Using a quantitative survey research design, data were collected from teachers and parents across
public and private schools in the study area. Key findings reveal that inflation significantly
increases the cost of educational resources, disrupts the learning environment, and contributes to
elevated stress and anxiety among pupils, thereby negatively impacting their academic
performance. The study underscores the importance of increased investment in education,
community collaboration, and the adoption of cost-effective strategies to mitigate these challenges.
Recommendations include enhancing funding for education, integrating online learning platforms,
and providing counseling services to address the socio-economic and psychological effects of
inflation. These findings provide valuable insights for policymakers and education.
