Abstract
ABSTRACT
This study investigate the phytochemicals contents and invitro antioxidant activity of Anogeissus leiocarpus leaf extract using maceration method, phytochenical analysis revealed the presence of allkaloids 0.418, flavonoids 0.358, saponins 0.231, tannins 1.139 and steroid 0.217 which are known for their medicinal properties. The antioxidant of the extract was evaluated using how invitro assays: DPPH and NO, For DPPH assav. the extract showed a concentration-dependent increase in antioxidant activity with 32.28% inhibition at 1.Omg/ml,43.43% at 2.0mg/ml and 53.06% at 3.0mg/ml. similarly in NO, the extract demonstrated increasing inhibition with 43.74% at 1.Omg/ml,45.95% at 2. Omg/ml and 53.68% at 3.Omg/ml. these results suggest that Anogeisssus leiocarpus leafextract possess moderate antioxidant activity.
