Abstract
E-governance has become a vital tool for enhancing public service performance by promoting efficiency, transparency, and accountability in government operations. This study examines the impact of e-governance on public service performance in Anambra State, with a focus on Federal Polytechnic Oko from 2019 to 2024. The study adopts a descriptive survey research design, collecting data from staff and stakeholders through structured questionnaires and interviews. Findings reveal that the adoption of e-governance at Federal Polytechnic Oko has improved service delivery by reducing bureaucratic bottlenecks, enhancing communication, and streamlining administrative processes. However, challenges such as inadequate digital infrastructure, poor internet connectivity, and limited ICT skills among staff members hinder the full implementation of e-governance initiatives. Despite these obstacles, e-governance has significantly contributed to efficiency in public service operations, particularly in areas such as student registration, financial transactions, and academic records management. The study recommends increased investment in ICT infrastructure, capacity-building programs for staff, and stronger policy frameworks to ensure the sustainability of e-governance initiatives. Strengthening digital governance will further enhance public service performance and contribute to effective institutional management in Anambra State.
