Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is one of the most common endocrine disorders which causes microvascular and macrovascular complications. Herbal medicines derived from plant extracts are used to treat various diseases because of its fewer side effects. The present investigation focuses on determining the effects of Hellenia speciosa leaf extract on the haematological parameters of Stz induced diabetes in albino rats. The fresh Hellenia speciosa leaves were rinsed in clean water, then left to air dry at room temperature. Electric blender was used to blend the dried leaves, and a soxhlet extractor was used to extract the powdered leaves using ethanol.
