Abstract

This study investigated the effects of energy drinks, bitters, and cannabinoids on electrolyte balance and lipid profile in the plasma and selected organs of male albino rats. Twenty-four rats were divided into four groups: control, energy drink-treated, bitters-treated, and cannabinoid-treated. The substances were administered orally for 28 days. Biochemical analyses showed significant alterations in electrolyte levels and lipid metabolism compared to control, suggesting that these substances can cause metabolic imbalance and potential organ dysfunction. Excessive consumption of energy drinks, bitters, or cannabinoids may increase the risk of cardiovascular and metabolic disorders.
