Abstract
Power outages is a major challenge in the society that cannot be ignored. This project design and construction of an automatic transfer switch (ATS) does not only enables seamless transition between mains power and generator power in single phase systems, but also include the protection of the entire system utilizing a microcontroller-based control system that continuously senses voltage and frequency deviations and automatically switches to the generator within 5 seconds of power failure, ensuring minimal disruption to connected loads. The ATS features advanced protection capabilities, including overload and overheat protection, and offers manual override capability, allowing for flexible control and convenient maintenance. With its reliable, efficient, and safe power transfer, this ATS is suitable for various applications, including residential, commercial, and industrial installations, and provides an ideal solution for uninterrupted power needs, while its cost-effectiveness and easy installation make it an attractive option for users seeking a high-quality and dependable power backup solution.
