ABSTRACTThis study investigated the influence of environmental factors on the teaching of Biologypracticals in secondary schools in Ekiti State, Nigeria. A descriptive survey research designwas employed, and a sample of 100 biology teachers from 20 secondary schools in Ekiti Statewas selected. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using descriptivestatistics. The results showed that environmental factors such as availability of laboratoryfacilities, equipment and materials, safety and security of the laboratory environment, andaccessibility to natural habitats significantly influenced the teaching of Biology practicals. Thestudy also revealed that noise pollution, limited space for outdoor activities, and storage anddisposal of biological waste were major challenges facing biology teachers in teaching practicalbiology. The study recommended that government and school administrators should provideadequate laboratory facilities, equipment, and materials, and ensure a safe and securelaboratory environment to enhance the teaching and learning of Biology practicals
