Malaria Parasite Burden Among Students in a Tertiary Institution Hostel in Ekpoma, Nigeria

Abstract
The study investigates the burden of malaria parasites among students in tertiary institution hostels in Ekpoma, Nigeria. Blood samples were collected from 50 individuals and tested using the AdvDx™ malaria pf kit. Results showed that female students (14%) had a higher exposure to malaria than male students (6%). Overall malaria prevalence was low (20%). The study emphasizes the need for increased awareness and improved malaria prevention and control through personal and environmental hygiene among students.
