Abstract
ABSTRACT This research work determined Teacher’s Competency, Availability and Utilization of instructional materials for the teaching of chemistry in Igabi Local Government of Kaduna state. The research design used was a descriptive survey design. The sample for the research consisted of 100 chemistry students and 6 chemistry teachers. A self-constructed questionnaire and checklist which was face-validated by experts in the department of science education were used for data analysis. The data collected was analysed using simple percentage and frequency tables. The finding indicated that most of the instructional materials were available in the study area, the teachers utilizing the instructional materials averagely competent in utilizing the instructional materials.
