Abstract
This study examines the determinant of health outcomes in Africa over the period 2010 – 2022. To do this, the study specifies two (2) specific objectives. First, to ascertain the impact of health determinants on life expectancy in Africa and secondly to evaluate the impact of health determinants on infant mortality rate in Africa. The system Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) estimation technique was employed in the analysis. The findings of this study indicate that health determinant such as unemployment have a negative impact on life expectancy in Africa. The results further indicate that unemployment and population growth impact negatively though insignificant, on economic growth in Africa. More so, health determinant such as air pollution, and current expenditure impacts positively on infant mortality rate in Africa, but it is statistically insignificant. The report recommends for stricter environmental regulations to curb pollution, increased investments in sanitation and healthcare infrastructure, and inclusive economic policies that address unemployment.
