Abstract
The control of DC motor speed is a fundamental requirement in various industrial and laboratory applications where precision and stability are critical. This project presents the design and construction of an improved Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) DC motor speed control experimental module. The system integrates electronic hardware, motor driver circuitry, a DC motor, feedback sensing, and a microcontroller-based PID algorithm to regulate motor speed under varying load conditions. The improved module allows real-time tuning of PID parameters to demonstrate their individual and combined effects on system response. The designed system enhances practical learning in control engineering laboratories and offers improved efficiency, stability, and accuracy compared to conventional open-loop and basic proportional control systems.
