Abstract
The study investigates the antimicrobial properties of turmeric (Curcuma longa) and ginger (Zingiber officinale) extracts on selected microorganisms. The aim was to assess their effectiveness as natural alternatives to synthetic antibiotics. Both aqueous and ethanol extracts were tested against bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus using standard laboratory methods. Results revealed that both extracts exhibited significant antibacterial activity, with ethanol extracts showing greater inhibition zones. The findings support the potential of turmeric and ginger as natural antimicrobial agents suitable for pharmaceutical and food preservation applications.
