Effects of Incentives Management on Employee Commitment in Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti

Abstract
This research examines the effect of incentives management on employee commitment in Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti. The study investigated how monetary and non-monetary incentives influence employees’ level of commitment, satisfaction, and overall performance.
The study adopted a descriptive survey design, using questionnaires to gather data from staff members of the university. The data collected were analyzed using frequency counts, percentages, and regression analysis to determine the relationship between incentives management and employee commitment.
Findings revealed that incentives management has a significant effect on employee commitment. Both financial and non-financial incentives were found to motivate employees, improve job satisfaction, and enhance their sense of belonging to the organization. The study also discovered that inadequate or poorly managed incentive systems contribute to reduced morale, lateness, absenteeism, and turnover among staff.
Based on the findings, the study concluded that a well-structured incentive management system is essential for improving employees’ dedication and retention in Ekiti State University. It recommends that management should ensure fairness, transparency, and regular review of incentive policies to sustain employee motivation and organizational productivity.
