Abstract
ABSTRACT
The design and construction of IOT based electrical energy meter using GSM MODULE” aimed to construct an IOT based electrical energy meter using a GSM module for remote monitoring and management of energy consumption. The gadget sensed the Alternating Current (AC) voltage using ZMPT101B, ACS 712 for current sensor where a C-like language was written on the Arduino IDE and burned to the Arduino Uno Microcontroller which was used as the brain box of the work. The microcontroller processed the current and voltage to ON the load relay if there was credit unit loaded. A 100W bulb was used for test running and 10W AKT energy saving bulb was latter used. Then the GPRS mode of the SIM on the gsm module was enabled to send the data obtained to the free thingspeak IOT platform on the internet. The data
showed the current(A), voltage (V), power(kW), energy (kWh) and the energy balance (kWh).
