Abstract

In vitro propagation of rosemary (Salvia rosmarinus) has gained increasing attention due to its medicinal, aromatic, and economic significance. However, optimizing growth conditions and preventing microbial contamination remain major constraints in tissue culture laboratories. This study focuses on evaluating the effects of culture media composition, plant growth regulators, and environmental conditions on shoot initiation and multiplication of rosemary. It also examines the frequency, sources, and types of microbial contamination encountered during culture establishment. Findings are expected to provide improved protocols for enhanced regenerative efficiency while minimizing contamination challenges. Ultimately, this research contributes to reliable mass propagation of rosemary for commercial and pharmaceutical applications.
