Abstract
The study investigated the relationship between students' perception of mathematics and their academic performance in the subject. Conducted among specific secondary school students in Jogana Gezawa LGA Kano, the research examines how factors such as attitude towards math, self-efficacy, and anxiety influence achievement. Data were collected through surveys and analyzed alongside students' math scores. Findings suggests a significant correlation between positive perception and better performance. The study highlights the importance of addressing students' perceptions to improve math outcomes and recommends strategies for educators to foster a more positive math learning environment.
