Appraisal of Decision Making Process in Public Sector: a Case Study of Niger State Ministry of Budget and Planning.

Abstract
This study undertakes an appraisal of the decision-making process in the public sector, using the Niger State Ministry of Budget and Planning as a case study. The research aims to investigate the effects of personal interest on decision-making, identify the qualities required for effective decision-making, explore the implications of subordinate participation or restriction, and examine the factors influencing decision-making success in public sector organizations. Using a descriptive approach, the study analyzes data collected through questionnaires, presenting findings in tabular forms to facilitate comparison and inference. The results provide valuable insights into the decision-making process in the public sector, highlighting areas for improvement and informing strategies for enhanced effectiveness.
