Abstract
ABSTRACT This study investigates the effect of using multimedia in teaching Mathematics among secondary school students. Survey research design was used for this work. A sample of one hundred (100) respondents was selected randomly and a structured questionnaire with Likert scale consisting of Strongly Agree (SA), Agree (A), Disagree (D), and Strongly Disagree (SD) was used to collect data from the respondents. Four hypotheses were formulated to guide the study while chi-square was used to analyse the data. The finding reveals among others that there is a significant difference in students’ motivation to learn Mathematics between those taught using traditional methods and those exposed to multimedia-based instruction. Then it was recommended that the use of Multimedia-based instruction should be infused into the teaching and learning of Mathematics. Keywords: Multimedia, Effective, Teaching and Mathematics
