Comparative Study on Effects of Edta and Calcium Chloride on Peroxidase Activity from Pulp of Watermelon (citrullus Lanata)

Abstract

The study on comparative effects of calcium chloride and EDTA on crude peroxidase activityfrom the pulp of watermelon (Citrullus lanatus) fruit was carried out. Watermelon waspurchased from a local market at Ekpoma, Esan West Local Government area, Edo state,washed and the parts separated. Ten grams (10g) of the pulp was homogenized in a blenderusing 100ml of 0.1M sodium phosphate buffer of pH 7.0 separately.
