Abstract
This study is an investigation into the impact of English language teachers' interest on their teaching effectiveness in secondary schools within Ikwo Local Government, Ebonyi state. The research aimed at identifying factors influencing teachers' interest and also provide recommendations which includes increasing professional training programs and providing better resources to foster an effective learning environment.
The study utilized mixed- methods approach, classroom observations etc, to gather quantitative and qualitative data from a sample of English language teachers and students. The study concludes that enhancing teachers' interest in English language instruction is crucial for improving educational quality and student success.
