Abstract
The study evaluated the combined effects of intermittent fasting (IF) and Vitamin C on liver histology, body weight, and fasting blood glucose (FBG) in glucose-loaded male Wistar rats. While initial FBG levels were similar across groups, significant differences emerged by Week 3 and Week 5. Histological analysis revealed severe liver damage in the glucose-only group, moderate improvement with IF alone, and near-normal liver structure in the IF + Vitamin C group. These findings suggest a strong synergistic effect in reversing glucose-induced liver injury and restoring metabolic balance.
